Sakhi Hey | Dance performance

About the event

About the Performer: An Arts graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, Indrayanee Mukherjee is the first Ganda-Bandh shahgird of her Guruma, Smt. Uma Dogra. She has been training and performing alongside her mentor and giving solo performances all over India and abroad for over twenty years. An artistic personality, she expresses her creativity also through poetry and films. Indrayanee aspires, through her independent films, to pay a tribute to both the art, and the artist.

About the Performance: Sakhi Hey is the 6th ashtapadi from Jayadev’s Geet Govinda. Eloquence in love is the unabashed theme. Radha is deeply in love with Krishna, and she does not shy away from sharing with her dearest friend the experience of her lifetime as petal by petal, her amorous love story unfolds when she is with him. So intoxicated is she that time seems to be fading away way too soon and she pines to be back in his arms again.

Date: 17th August, 2023, Thursday | Time: 8:30 pm – 9:00 pm

IFBE

The Ice Factory at Ballard Estate (IFBE) is an experimental laboratory for transdisciplinary practices across modern and contemporary architecture, art, and pedagogy. The conserved and refashioned structure is itself a historical object; its complexity, diversity, and paradoxical forms of architecture are instruments for the invention of knowledge. Malik Architecture has created an architecture that does not settle, one with spaces to breathe through a crystallization and mutation of traditional, modern, and contemporary experiments. A century-old embodiment... of “the dreams that stuff is made of.” IFBE’s community of architects, artists, scholars, and students exists in the expanding complexity and multiplicity of the present without sacrificing a fidelity to pasts and archiving, to build and chronicle in the here and now, what Reinhard Koselleck felicitously called “futures past.”
