IFBE hosts virtuoso Aditya Prakash on 19 September 2022 for a talk and musical presentation that traces the artist’s journey, leading up to his much awaited new album Isolashun.

Isolashun, a multi-tiered project featuring a full-length music album, podcast series and a short film by Aditya Prakash in collaboration with Akram Khan, explores the tension in artistic and cultural identity. Isolashun pushes the sonic, aesthetic, and narrative boundaries of Karnatik Music to raise questions of bias, hypocrisy and identity in the “classical” culture.

Award-winning musician and Karnatic vocalist Aditya Prakash  gears up to release his much awaited album, Isolashun.  "It is more and more a common perception that anything relating to “classical” is far removed from the present generation. Through Isolashun, the 'classical' language becomes my medium to tell a deeply personal story in the present tense, one that speaks of issues that are on our mind and are part of our daily experience – xenophobia, beauty norms, radicalism, mental health", says Aditya.
