DESCRIPTION:Prime is a Contemporary Dance Performance that looks at the relationship between movement and the ageing body. Bringing together a group of seniors, all above the age of 60, who have had a long-term relationship with dance, this performance looks at deconstructing remnants of a past movement practice in an older body. It aims at addressing how the body remembers a technical physical vocabulary as it matures.

Bringing attention to age as an embodied experience, the focus of the performance is to highlight how the performers renegotiate the landscape of their changing bodies. Prime looks at extending the body memory of a learnt form into a language that rests in personal histories, private loves and nostalgia.
