What is a Protagonist? What are the different types of protagonists? What are the other characters your story needs? What are the essential elements of cinematic characters? Apart from answering these questions, the workshop will arm the students with skills that can help them find and develop characters for their stories.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP FACILITATOR
Satyanshu Singh is a National Award-winning filmmaker, writer and professor of cinema known for writing poems in ‘Udaan’ (2010), writing and directing the feature film ‘Chintu Ka Birthday’ (2019), and directing the web series ‘Jehanabad’ (2023) for SonyLiv. Currently, Satyanshu is creating a series with Vikramaditya Motwane.
Satyanshu has been teaching filmmaking and screenwriting for 13 years, and is a guest lecturer/mentor at premium film schools like SRFTI and Whistling Woods. He conducted two batches of First Draft – a six-month residency program for writers. Many alumni from this program are now professional writers in the film industry. Satyanshu has also co-authored a Hindi screenwriting book, ‘Idea Se Parde Tak’.
