Sustainability Now | Arts for placemaking in Mumbai

Sep 07 2022–Oct 03 20226:00pm-8:00pm

About the event

A number of exciting public art projects and citizen led initiatives have transformed Mumbai’s spaces into places – think the Bollywood Art Project that brightened Bandra’s by lanes or the revamping of Versova’s koliwada district.

Such placemaking activities integrate art, architecture, and anthropology to give vitality to precincts of the city that foster creative thinking, community interaction and instil democratic values.

Ketaki Bhadgaonkar, Arzan Khambatta, Hanif Kureshi and Alisha Sadikot, in conversation with Naman Saraiya explore strategies to sustainably optimise public spaces through art in the city.
